Microsoft MSX 2+ (msx2+)

for Batocera and Retrobat

MSX 2 was an 8-bit computer standard introduced in 1985, a development of the MSX standard (later called MSX 1). Compared to its predecessor, it had enhanced graphics capabilities and the MSX DOS 2.0 operating system.

The MSX 2 standard did not gain much popularity, or even as much as MSX 1. After its introduction, Microsoft left the MSX project, but ASCII Corporation continued the work and in 1988 another improved MSX 2+ standard was presented, available only in Japan. In 1991 Panasonic unveiled a computer of the improved MSX Turbo R standard, but ceased their production as early as 1992. MSX computers were pushed out of the market with the dusk of 8-bit computers.
