The PlayStation 3 (PS3) is a home video game console developed by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the successor to PlayStation 2, and is part of the PlayStation brand of consoles. It was first released on November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America, and March 23, 2007 in Europe and Australia. The PlayStation 3 competed primarily against Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles.

The console was first officially announced at E3 2005, and was released at the end of 2006. It was the first console to use Blu-ray Disc as its primary storage medium. The console was the first PlayStation to integrate social gaming services, including the PlayStation Network, as well as the first to be controllable from a handheld console, through its remote connectivity with PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita. In September 2009, the Slim model of the PlayStation 3 was released. It no longer provided the hardware ability to run PS2 games. It was lighter and thinner than the original version, and featured a redesigned logo and marketing design, as well as a minor start-up change in software. A Super Slim variation was then released in late 2012, further refining and redesigning the console.

Note for Update pack:
***Do not delete current ps3 folder from system***  
This pack adds games that are present in "PlayStation 3 v1.0 [LITE] [RGS]" that are not present in "RGS_Ps3_V1.0"

How to install in Batocera:
Drag and drop the "ps3" folder into the 'roms' directory
Copy the contents of \dev_hdd0\ to \userdata\system\configs\rpcs3\dev_hdd0\ (or via the network share \\batocera\share\system\configs\rpcs3\dev_hdd0\)
If asked to replace any files say "Yes to all"
Update gameslist and enjoy

How to install in Retrobat:
Drag and drop the "ps3" folder into the 'roms' directory

For RetroBat v6.3.1 copy the contents of \dev_hdd0\ to \RetroBat\saves\ps3\rpcs3\dev_hdd0\

For previous versions of RetroBat copy the contents of \dev_hdd0\ to: \RetroBat\emulators\rpcs3\dev_hdd0\

If asked to replace any files say "Yes to all"
Update gameslist and enjoy

Lite pack Info:
This is the first of our 'Lite' packs for the RGS builds (RetroBat and Batocera)

Lite pack is a collection of the 'best' games for this system. It has been created using several sources, such as various Top xx games lists available online and console/system exclusives. It also includes some of the teams personal favorites. Of course everyone has different tastes and likes, but this will hopefully be a good starting point for most people or be a nice curated set for those with less storage space.

The number of games in our 'Lite' packs varies, this is down to having the right balance of content versus size. Those disc-based systems that can take up a lot of storage have lower numbers of games, whereas as ROM, Cartridge, Cassette, Floppy etc based systems, will generally have more games. The aim is to have great content, but keep the total size of the packs manageable.
